Word of the week Wednesday

Good morning my Wednesday raviolis.  I know you all know what blogging day today is...it is word of the week wednesday.  Today's word is in honor of the Aurora raviolis who have just moved into their new house.  I understand there is lots of room to run around in and to also "nest in."  So much room that the ravs are putting themselves to bed at night because they are exhausted from playing in the back yard with Squirt and riding their bikes and roller blading in the Cul-de-sac.   How wonderful!  So today's word is:

"Home"

Now, I don't know if google earth is correct, but according to them, this is the front of their new home.  Love Love Love the big tree in the front yard.

Did you know that many people can live in a house, but it is the love and the laughter and the joy and the tears for each of the occupants that make a house truly a home.  You would know this as family and grandma-ma and grampy are very excited to visit the Aurora raviolis new "Home."  So be sure to use the word "home" in three sentences today.  Here is grandma-ma's first sentence:
Grandma-ma's favorite home is where the raviolis can be found.

Have a wonderful day my silly raviolis. Grandma-ma

Hearts and Flowers

Good morning my tuesday raviolis. If your eyes are clever, you  may have noticed that I changed out the background again.  I have had jelly beans up for the upcoming Easter holiday.

A 4-cheese ravioli asked if grandma-ma could make a background of hearts and flowers because that is what she liked.  Well, whatever a ravioli desires, grandma-ma will attempt to make happen.  So, miss Kit Kat-paddy whack...here is your hearts and flowers background.  I hope you enjoy it.

And sending big pink, polkadotted hearts to all my ravs.  If you would like to send me your ideas on a background for your blog, please leave a comment and I will design it and put it up for you.

Hugs and pink heart kisses to you all.

Bowling Ravioli

Hello my raviolis. Have you ever seen a bowling ravioli? Well if you haven't here is a video of a first time bowling ravioli and she did very well. This was a play date with an Italian girlfriend and they both had lots of fun bowling. In fact, this little rav scored the third highest score in the group!  Grandma-ma was so proud.

Do you like to bowl?  If so, please leave a comment and tell grandma-ma.  Love to you all my ravs. Hugs and kisses too. Grandma-ma

Ravioli News

Hello my raviolis.  Grandma-ma had a wonderful visit with the Italian raviolis in March.  Lots of hugs and kisses were given, Harry Potter movies and stories were watched and read

and a truck load of diapers were changed and more truckloads of baby bottles were filled and emptied.

A trip to the market was filled with doggies and their owners.
It was wonderful.

So now grandma-ma has lots of pictures to go through.  When grandma-ma returned to Atlanta, she learned that Denver raviolis are moving into a nice, big house with a fenced in yard and lots of room to play and grow and love each other in.  How wonderful.  Grandma-ma also learned that a certain Denver ravioli did very well on an important test AND...AND his teacher said he increased his grade point.  Grampy and Grandma-ma are very proud of the hard work he is doing.

More news, the Italian raviolis will be moving to New York in June and their mommy worked very hard to locate a house to live in and it is also a nice big house for growing raviolis.  How exciting.

So my raviolis, have a wonderful Saturday and know that Grampy and Grandma-ma love you all and can't wait to see you again when we can squeeze the hot pockets of goodness right out of you.  Hugs and Kisses

Ciao Bella Raviolis

Grandma-ma is in Italy visiting the Italian raviolis and will be here until Tuesday. Say hello to Connor,

Kelsey

and Kaitlyn!
We are having a wonderful time but want to know if Uncle Aaron has closed on his new house yet?  I'm sure the Denver raviolis would love to begin moving into it.  Love to you all.  Grandma-ma.

Spring ahead

Good morning my springee raviolis.  Did you remember?  Did you remember to change your clocks last night to welcome Daylight Savings time?

Grandma-ma and Grampy did.  We remembered to change the clocks to "spring ahead" so if our clocks said 10:00 pm, we moved the hands to 11:00 pm.

Now, do we really save time with daylights savings?  Of course not.  What we do receive from Daylight  Savings time is an extra hour of sunlight at night so you can play outside longer.  That is the best part about Daylight Savings time.  So, if you have not moved your clocks ahead one hour, ask mommy or daddy to help you do that.

And remember, now that you have an extra hours of daylight, that is just more daylight hours for grandma-ma and grampy to squeeze the giggles out of you.

Funny pets

Hello my raviolis.  It is Friday and I thought you might like to see some videos of funny pets. The first video is a group of puppies play and wrestling.  They are cute.

The second video is of Sphynx cats playing with bubbles.

Finally a video of a unique little animal called the bunny rodent kangaroo.  He is too cute.

I hope you enjoy these Friday videos.  Have a wonderful day my raviolis and remember, grandma-ma loves you all.

Sending you an owl

If only grandma-ma could.  Harry Potter can send and receive owl messages, wouldn't it be neat if we could send each other owls?

Harry Potter and Hedwig - his Snowy Owl.

Errol, the elderly, Great Gray Owl that can barely deliver mail for the Weasley family.  He can swoop in and deliver the mail, but because he is so old, he often falls upon landing.

Considering the flaunting of wealth and display of arrogance, it isn’t surprising that the Malfoy family bird is the Eurasian eagle owl, Bubo

After Ron Weasley lost Scabbers in The Prisoner of Azkaban, he received a present of a small gray owl from Sirius Black. Hermione Granger had named the bird Pigwidgeon, or “Pig” for short.

Have a magical day my raviolis.  Grandma-ma

Word of the Week Wednesday

Hello my Wednesday raviolis.  Today is word of the week Wednesday and today's word has to do with Atlanta weather. It is wet and damp outside so today's word is:

"rain"

So, put on your favorite rain boots or galoshes or wellies:

Grab your favorite umbrella:

Grandma-ma likes umbrella H because it reminds her of Mary Poppins.

and let's go play in the rain!

Here is a neat video that shows people making the sound of rain by doing some very simple things.  My favorite part of the video is when they make the sound of thunder.  After your have watched this neat video, play it again and then close your eyes while listening to it.  You will think you are in the middle of a rain storm.

Be sure to use the word "rain" in three sentences today.   Here is grandma-ma's first sentence:  "Have a happy go lucky, jump in a rain puddle kind of day."  Hugs and kisses to you all.  Grandma-ma

I love animal videos

Hello my Tuesday raviolis.  Grandma-ma loves animal videos because she loves animals. Bailey is a dog that "plays dead" like you have never seen before it.  It is so sweet and funny.  You will laugh and watch this video over and over again.  Bailey is seen here playing dead on a TV show.

Here is a video about Jessica the hippo. Jessica is a family pet who used to live in the house until she broke a couch and sofa.  Now she is only allowed to visit the family kitchen.  I don't know if I would want to have a Hippopotamus for a pet, but she would be fun to take for a walk on a lease, don't you think?

Have a wonderful Tuesday my happy raviolis and enjoy the animal videos.  Love and kisses and animal hugs to you all.  Grandma-ma

Monday Mix

Good morning my raviolis.  It is a beautiful Monday here in Atlanta.

The sun is shining so it will be a perfect day to play outside.

Grandma-ma is at work and busy re-imaging laptops for engineers in the field. But, grandma-ma likes to do things like this so this is a good start to the day.

Grampy is at home, in front of the computer, chatting with other cruisers to see where they are sailing to and what adventures they may be on.

So it is going to be a lovely day.  Tell me what you are doing today if you can.  Love Grandma-ma

Well, today, grampy surprised grandma-ma with a ticket to visit the raviolis in Denver.  Wooo hooooooooo!

So in April, Grandma-ma will board another plane to fly out to Denver and visit the raviolis who live in Aurora, Colorado.  Grandma-ma is very excited because she has only spoken to the raviolis on the phone and now she will get to hug and squeeze them and laugh and play and have a good time with them all.

Thank you grampy for such a wonderful surprise...and you Denver ravioilis...here comes grandma-ma!!!

Sunny Saturday

Hello my Saturday raviolis.  It is a beautiful day and perfect for running around with Aunt Renee.  The sun is shining and hit grampy in the face this morning, so while grampy was still snoozing, Grandma-ma took Kota and we went out and bought fresh bagels to make grampy a nice, breakfast sandwich when he woke up.
Kota even got a special doggie bagel for his breakfast.

Grandma cooked up slices of Taylor  Ham Pork roll, two eggs over easy, some cheese and all on a fresh bagel.  Grampy said it was a very tasty sandwich with his fresh coffee.  Grampy liked it so much, he asked for another one for Sunday breakfast.

Next was a trip to Joann Fabrics and Crafts.  Aunt Renee came with me and we shopped for special surprises to bring to my 4 cheese ravioli when I visit in two weeks.

Here is a peek at one of the crafty items I will bring.  Can you guess what they are?

After a day of shopping, Aunt Renee will pick up Grandma-ma and Grampy and we will visit our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner.

Yummy food and good company makes for a nice supper.  I hope you also had a fun and activity filled Saturday all my raviolis.  Love to you all.

Q-tip Pointillism

Hello Friday raviolis.  It is going to be a beautiful day and I hope you are all looking forward to a fun weekend.  Grandma-ma put a new header up on her other blog.  It is a picture she took under the water while in Cancun last Christmas.

The photo reminded me of the Impressionist painters who used "dots" of paint to create a painting.  Here is a famous painting called "The Eiffel Tower" by Georges Seurat who used tiny dots of paint (called pointillism) to create this painting.

If you click on the photo, it will enlarge and you can see the tiny dots of paint.

Grandma-ma thinks it would be fun to create a painting using the Pointillist technique.  You can do this with water colors and q-tips or you can use water based markers.  Click on this LINK and it will take you to the picture of easter eggs you see below.  Print out the picture and ask mom or dad or a friend to help you set up your water color paints and a box of q-tips.  If you are using markers, be sure to use the water base ones.

Dip the Q-tip in the water and then the water color paint and "tap" the picture with the end of the paint filled q-tip.  How easy is that?  Continue to add lots of dots or points of paint on the picture using different colors and you will have created a Pointillist picture.   Here is an example of what your dots can look like.

There are different color dots and some dots are close together and some dots even overlap each other.   If you are using markers, you gently tap a dot on the picture and keep adding dots until the colors are close together.  Pointillist takes time.  It does not go fast but it is very pretty when you are finished. I hope you enjoy learning about Pointillist and if you finish a picture, please take a picture and send it to grandma-ma.  She would love to post your work on your blog.  Have a wonderful day my painting raviolis.  Love grandma-ma

Surprise!!!

Hello my raviolis. Grandma-ma liked talking about jelly beans on Word of the Week Wednesday that she decided it would be fun to have jellybeans as our spring background.  So, I was busy last night creating a colorful and fun to look at background for your blog.  I hope you enjoy the surprise background for the spring season.

This is what a blog background looks like before you post it for upload.  It is really just two borders with a blank middle area for all of the posts that you read.  Would you like to help grandma-ma make a different background?  Tell me your idea or what you would like to see in a "Raviolis for Lunch" background and grandma-ma will make it and upload it for you.  Have a colorful, jelly bean day my loves.  Grandma-ma

Word of the week Wednesday

Good morning my Wednesday raviolis.  It's word of the week Wednesday again and today's word is a sweet one.  It is a word that makes people smile when they hear it and that word is:

"jellybean"

Everybody loves jelly beans.  They are pretty colors, small shape, and come in lots of different flavors and are sweet to eat.   I know of a raviolios mommy who loves Jelly Bellys.  I wonder what her favorite flavor is.

Brachs and Jelly Belly are the most famous jelly beans you can purchase, but there is another jelly bean that is recently very popular. Can you guess who make them.  Here is a hint, sometimes they taste like pepper or ear wax or even dirt.
You guessed it.  Bertie Botts Beans from Harry Potter.  The jelly bean that is always a surprise no matter the color.  I don't think I would like an ear wax jelly bean, do you?

Did you know that the earliest known appearance of the modern jelly bean was during the American Civil War when William Schraft of Boston promoted sending the candy to soldiers in the Union Army.  It was not until 1930 or so that jelly beans became an Easter candy, presumably from their resemblance to Easter eggs and is now an Easter favorite candy you find in your Easter baskets.

You can find big jellys and little jellys and even spicy jellys...grandma-ma prefers spicy jellys.
What is your favorite jelly bean flavor?  You can leave a comment and tell everyone.  Grandma-ma likes the black ones best.  They are licorice flavor and they make your tongue black too.
Remember to use the word jellybean in three sentences today.  Here is grandma-ma's first sentence:   Jellybeans on a cupcake make a pretty design.

Have a wonderful Wednesday my happy jellybeans.  Grandma-ma

Snow and Ravioli

Hello my raviolis.  It is snowing and sleeting again and grandma-ma would rather it be spring and sunny.  Here is a short video of the snow falling in Atlanta again...when will this every stop?

Grandma-ma needs something to make her smile and I think I found it.  This is a happy go lucky jumping four cheese ravioli.

I think I need to go home and jump on my sofa just like this until the snow stops.  Do you think I should?  What would grampy say?  I think grampy would say that grandma-ma was nuts.  Still, it does look like fun.

Stay warm my raviolis.  Grandma-ma

It's March, will it roar in like a lion

or will the month be gentle like a lamb? March is known to come in like a Lion and go out like a Lamb!

From fierce gales to gentle breezes, pelting rains to soft mist.  March is the time of transition from winter to spring and it usually brings goofy weather.  Why a lion and a lamb for March?  Well, the Lion brings the sharp biting wind  and the lamb brings the gentle breezes.  Go outside and see if you can feel the wind on your cheeks.  Who is sending the wind today?  Is it the lion or the lamb?

Here is a maze you can do.  See if you can connect the lion to the lamb.  Click on this LINK to print out a large copy of the maze.  Have a roaring good day my raviolis.  Grandma-ma loves you.
