Nutella Love

Had to share this sweet photo of Kit Kat eating her Nutella following a swim.  Did you know that Kit Kat and mommy love their Nutella?  It reminds them of Italy when they lived there.

So here is a recipe for mommy and Kit Kat and all my raviolis.  I think you will really like it and it is perfect for those cold NY or Colorado evenings.

Nutella Mug Cake.

4 tablespoons self rising flour
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons Nutella
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

1. Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes. (Time depends on microwave wattage. Mine took 1 /2 minutes.) Top with whipped cream and a little chocolate sauce if desired.

2. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Enjoy!

Note: Depending on the wattage of your microwave, you may have to increase cooking time.  Makes one very large serving so you could probably put it in two mugs.

Enjoy my raviolis.  Love Grandma-ma

Word of the Week Wednesday

Hello my raviolis. It is word of the week Wednesday and I think you will like today's word:

cartoon

Everybody likes cartoons and in honor of the upcoming holiday, Independance Day or as most of us call it, The Fourth of July...grandma-ma is going to post some of the patriotic cartoons that she watched when she was a little girl.  Many of these were produced during and shortly after World War II.  Now grandma-ma was born in 1954 so these cartoon are even older than grandma-ma.  This cartoon was created in 1939 of Porky Pig, called Old Glory Porky Pig and it is one of my favorites.

I hope you enjoy it.

Did you catch something different about the Pledge of Allegiance at the end of the cartoon?  If you know what it is, please leave a comment to this post.  I will tell you if you are correct.  Love you my ravs.  Grandma-ma

Hamster Dance

Today we learned that Kit Kat Maroo Hoo had her final MRI/MRA testing to see how the boo boo in her head has healed.   She had to make one more trip to the hospital and she had to breathe sleeping gas for the test.  She was a trooper!

Do you know what we learned?  We learned that her boo boo is all gone. That she is all healed and can do all of the things she loved to do before she had the boo boo. Grandma-ma is so happy for you sweet girl and she can't wait to go swimming for gems with you again.  So let's all do the happy dance...or better yet, the hamster dance.   Click on the hamster and make sure our speakers are on...Okay, everybody...let's dance!!!!!!
Kisses and happy dances for everybody.  Grandma-ma

Where are the raviolis?

Has anyone seen my raviolis?  I understand that they are all traveling this week on a vacation.  Yes, each and every ravioli is on a vacation trip.

Aurora raviolis are traveling to Mount Rushmore.

New York raviolis are traveling to Vermont to play at Smugglers Notch.

All of this looks like so much fun and Grampy and I wish we could be with you.  So please send us photos of your travels and activities and I will post them on "your" blog so we can all see what you are up to.  Send them to needthis@bellsouth.net or through the phone.  I will then post them for you and you can see yourself on your blog.

Love to all of you  and have a marvelous time.  Hugs and kisses to you.  Grandma-ma

What's that?

Hello my raviolis.  Can you see it?  What is that up high in the trees?

It is very high up in the jungle.  These trees were just outside the room that Grampy and Grandma-ma had in Mexico.

Look closer...can you see the long tail?  Can you guess what it is?  Yes, you are correct.  It is a monkey.

They are inky black with eyes like marbles.  These are howler monkeys.

They would howl outside our patio each morning.  They were fun to watch.
You are all my little howler monkeys and I love you.  Grandma-ma.

Five months of braces

Hello my raviolis.  Grandma-ma visited the dentist today and they replaced her old wire with a new one.  It is a bigger and stronger and thicker wire and he added a plastic chain across the bottom row to bring the teeth in close.

Can you see all of the plastic chain around her front, bottom teeth?  This will straighten the rest of them out and align them up.  My bottom teeth are tender because of this chain so I will eat lots of jello this weekend.

Here is the first picture of my braces.  Look how crooked they are.  Now look at the top picture and you can see how straight my teeth have become. A little bit more of tweaking and straightening and soon the wires and appliances will come off.  I am excited about seeing what my teeth will look like when they are all straight.

Love to all my raviolis.  Grandma-ma
