More baby goat shenanigans!

Hello my raviolis.  Here is another silly video about a goat who loves to play with a pink yoga ball.  He is having such a good time with it.

He is as silly as Buttermilk who loves to jump on her brothers and sisters.  I hope you enjoy watching him play with the ball and jump on the picnic table.  Grandma-ma loves you.

What does the farmer say?

Hello my raviolis.  This video is posted for Connor.  It is all about what the "farmer says."  It is funny but also shows what a farmer does all day.

I bet  the sound that Connor likes best is when the farmer says "vvvroom, vvroom, vvvroom."

Let grandma-ma know and have a ravioli day.  Grandma-ma loves you.

Buttermilk the silly goat

Grandma-ma likes goats.  They are funny and smart and full of energy.  When grandma-ma saw this video she thought of one of her raviolis and thought, "If Kelsey was a baby goat, she would be Buttermilk."

Yes, this is most definitely Kels Bells.  She is so excited to see what is going on and is jumping all over her brothers and sisters to make sure she doesn't miss any thing.

Here is Buttermilk in the barn and getting into everything. She is a funny little goat.

Have a Buttermilk day my raviolis.  Love Grandma-ma.

Halloween Pumpkins at the Zoo

Hello my raviolis.  Did you know that many animals love to eat pumpkins?  Even animals who are usually meat eaters (carnivores) love a good vegetable.  Many zoo's and animal safari's provide pumpkins in October to the animals and they really enjoy them.

Here is grandma-ma's favorite halloween animal video.  Watch this silly squirrel carve a pumpkin.

Have a wonderful weekend my silly halloween raviolis.  Love you so - grandma-ma

Can you guess what this is?

Hello my raviolis.  It has been a very long time since I have posted but Grandma-ma is back and has posted a few pictures.  Can you guess what each picture shows?

Here is a hint...this will make a pretty Cinderella gown.

Here is another hint...this will make a "Brave" gown.

Brilliant colors are perfect for a Dragon car.

Cape and Celtic symbol fabric for Mereda.

Grandma-ma will be very busy this week as she puts together Halloween costumes.  There are sequins all over the house and even Kota has been wearing them as they stick to his fur.  He looks very funny in blue and gold sequins.  I love you my raviolis.  Grandma-ma

Keeping raviolis busy for 30 minutes.

You will need a fine Sharpie marker and the ability not to giggle while you draw this on their hand.

Yea, this should do it.
I would put one on both hands, just to keep them super busy and see if one hand can jump faster than the other. LOL
Grandma-ma loves you all.
p.s. I wonder how many daddies will put this on their hand too?

Baby Elephant Sees the Ocean for the First Time.

Hello my raviolis.  When you saw the ocean for the first time, what did you do?  Did you run down the sand to the waters edge as the waves crashed in?  Did you dive into the water with joyful abandon?  This little Indian elephant baby is in the ocean for the very first time and he loves it.  Look how happy he is with elephant smiles and rolls.

He is having so much fun and it makes me smile.  I want to laugh and play in the ocean too.  Have a wonderful day and remember grandma-ma loves you.

Moose twins in sprinkler

Hello my raviolis.  Now that we know that the NY raviolis will soon be Alaska raviolis this summer, I thought you might like this sweet video of baby moose twins frolicking in a backyard sprinkler.

I wonder if Kelsey, Connor and Kaitlyn will have visitors like this in their back yard?  I hope so, it would be fun to watch them.

Look what

Grandma-ma can do.  Yup, that is grandma-ma on a recumbent bike at the gym. She is doing some PT on her own to increase the bend or rotation in her new knee.

Five days ago, grandma-ma could not bend her knee enough to make the pedals do a complete circle.  She had to pump them back and forth in half circles because that i as far as her knee would bend. Grandma-ma does PT exercises every day and each day she is able to increase the rotation in her knee.  This takes lots of time and grandma-ma is not a patient woman but she is working hard.  Her hard work paid off this week and now she can ride a stationary bike.  Love to all of you and lots of hugs and kisses.  Grandma-ma

Everyone loves a mud puddle

Who doesn't love  mud puddle?  There is just something magical about them.  You must run through them and you must jump in them.  They are a good time.

Seems that this little elk calf likes to play in a mud puddle too!  He is having a lot of fun playing in the mud puddle.   I wonder if he knows he is a YouTube sensation.  Have a great day my raviolis. Grandma-ma loves you.

Playing Fetch

Hello my raviolis.  Isn't this neat!  This sweet doxie belongs to an engineer  and the engineer built this ball throwing contraption to allow his sweet dog to play fetch the ball.

This makes grandma-ma laugh every time she watches it.  Love to all of you my raviolis. XXXXXXX OOOOOO

"Patisserie"

Hello my raviolis, but especially Miss Kit Kat.  Yesterday she and I talked about tea parties and why they are so much fun. We we were talking about how grandma-ma was looking forward to having them again as it will be easier on her "new" knee to stand up, move around, pour teas and prepare fussy little patisserie servers.  KitKat asked what was a "Patisserie"?  I bet the ravioli mommies know what a Patisserie is and I know that Aunt Renee knows what a Patisserie is.

They servers filled with fussy little sandwiches, fresh little pastries and tiny, handmade chocolates.  .

When you attend a "tea or high tea" or take coffee or tea in Europe, the shop will set a patisserie on your table to enjoy with your tea.

Little servings of fruit clean your palette as you move on to different courses.

These are mini cupcakes that are perfect for teas.

And of course, you must have pretty bone china tea cups and saucers for freshly brewed teas to try.

How fun is this giant tower of mini cupcakes?  Now that is a patisserie full of delight.  All of these pretty finger foods take time to make in the kitchen and that is why grandma-ma is excited about her knee replacement.  She will be able to stand for long amounts of time and move around in a kitchen again.   As you can read, Grandma-ma is very excited about her recent knee surgery and how, following a few months of physical therapy, she will be able to run amuck with her raviolis.  Love to all of you.

How many staples can you see?

Hello my raviolis.  Grandma-ma has a question for you.  How many staples does grandma-ma have in her knee replacement incision?  Can you tell?  You will have to look closely because there are a few that are lumped together.

Okay, I'm sure you have lots of questions for grandma-ma so let me answer a few right now.

  1. Does it hurt? - Nope, doesn't hurt and it isn't stiff, it feels kinda cool.
  2. How long is the incision?   It is 8 inches in length...that's a lot of staples.
  3. Do I still wear a dressing?  Yes, I do.  It is five soft guaze squares that I place over the entire  incision. This protects it from infectio.
  4. Does it itch?  Not yet, but it may once the incision starts to heal up.
  5. Will is always look like this?   Nope, the staples will come out, the scar will heal over and soften in it's look. It will be thick and white for about a year, but will eventually get smaller and fleshy in color.
  6. Does grandma-ma worry about what it looks like?  No, not really, it's a sign that tells me I have a new, strong knee that will let me play with my raviolis.  That is a good trade off.
So, how many staples are in grandma-ma's incision?  Try and count and post how many.  Or if you can't put up a comment, then send my your guess in an email. With winner will receive a special prize.   Grandma-ma loves you all.

Peppermint Candy Plate

Hello my raviolis.  Grandma-ma just found the neatest way to serve birthday and holiday treats.  You can make a candy plate from hard candies like the Peppermint Mints that are usually given out at restaurants.

Lay parchment paper on the cookie tray you use so they don't stick to the tray and it makes it easy to lift off the tray to cool.  If you want a perfect circle, use a cake pan. You unwrap each candy and place them in a pattern.  Make sure they are touching each other.

 peppermint serving tray

You then bake at 350 in an oven and bake about 5 minutes.  Check to see that all have melted into each other.  You may need to bake it 1-3 minutes longer depending on your oven.  Be sure to watch after 5 minutes.

 Take out and allow to cool on cookie sheet {cools in approximately 5 minutes}
Remove parchment paper from bottom {be careful, tray is fragile and breaks easily}

I wish I discovered this neat candy plate before Christmas. Still, this would be fund to make in red and white for Valentines Day and when the easter colors come out, you can make one for Easter treats.  Have fun making these serving plates and post a photo if you do.  Love Grandma-ma
